I don't think there's any solar panels available at the consumer level that don't cost > 5 digits that can meet the energy needs of a house.

If it goes into four digit pricing, I'll be all over it.

I'm already waiting for my hot water tank to blow up so I can get an on-demand water heater. I've replaced all my most used lights to fluorescent or halogens. I installed curtains to keep in heat in winter and keep heat out in summer.

Next year, I'm putting in an attic fan to help with house cooling. I might replace that cheap pink insulation in the basement with Roxul.
