Default Mike "Gabby" Gaborno Dead at 51

There has to be some old punkers on CP that saw Gabby's band, the Cadillac Tramps play way back when at Infest, the old Republic or when they opened for Pearl Jam at Max Bell. One of the greatest front men of all time, he struggled with a host of health issues for quite a while.

If you haven't checked out his other band, Manic Hispanic, do yourself a favour and give them a listen. They took old punk classics and did their own take on them by including their specific brand of "barrio humour."

Cadillac Tramps formed in the late ’80s as its members found each other while in rehab for drug and alcohol addictions. The band, which also included guitarists Coakley and Jonny “Two Bags” Wickersham, bassist Warren Renfro and drummer Jamie Reidling, released a quartet of albums before disbanding in 1994, just as fellow O.C. artists such as No Doubt, the Offspring and Sugar Ray were making it big.
