They certainly cannot, unless your TV is hooked up to Google in some fashion.

YouTube is weird. It recommends things it thinks you "might" be interested in, and it will go to any length to gauge your interests. If you've ever Googled anyone remotely related to darts, or if you've ever watched anything vaguely sports-related on YouTube, it's very possible that a Darts video could show up.

Also, if the video was "Trending" -- getting a lot of views over a short period of time -- it can be recommended for you without you showing direct interest. It's only recommended for you because it's been proven that lots of other people have interest in it. This frequently happens to me as well.
