People only watch because it's the only source for Flames hockey most times in the yyc area. If ever I can stream TSN for a game involving the Flames I will.
TSN/NBC/american networks have better visual quality, audio quality, high frame rate slo-mo replays and more interesting camera angles.
I don't know who of the Flames fan base actually goes out and buys from the companies getting advertised. The commercials (each of the 7 or 8 you see at least 12 times over the course of a game) and ads that cut into the game (sport select, intact insurance, whatever) as well as the ones superimposed on the glass are only an annoyance, not a motivator to spend even a cent on their products and I'm glad I don't. Every second on the network that isn't the Flames playing hockey is absolutely grating. And it makes all the much worse when intermissions and post game contain zero Flames content. In fact the only time aimed at the team is usually in the half hour prior, during which most fans haven't yet tuned in, because it's before the program start time. And McDavid talk/highlights/praise when the panel comes on? Who the f do they think they're broadcasting to?
Moronic.
