I never thought I would ever say this but last night it was apparent to me that "size does matter". The Jackets have at least five times the number of Hamilton size players, and they man handled the Flames.
Early in the first period, it was evident that they weren't going to put up with the antics of Tkachuk, and gave him a pretty good beatdown right in front of the opposition bench. I watched him continually spitting in the penalty box...probably from bleeding in the mouth. After that, the Flames seemed hesitant to be very physically aggressive.
I agree with the above that the constant communication between coaches and players of the Jackets was evident throughout the game. And Torts showed much more passion (angry aggressiveness) when it came to discussing matters with the refs...which is certainly not surprising.
I think goaltending was also another one of the main reasons for our defeat last night.
