Flames are a more talented team than the Jackets and the difference right now is coaching and veteran players not stepping up. I'm not saying Gulutzan is a terrible coach but we have seen Torts get this kind of effort out of his teams before and they play smart and hard every night. Take away that 6 game winning streak and really from game to game you have no idea what Flames team will show up and while it's easy to blame coaching maybe it's about time the veteran players on this team started playing better and making an example of themselves. Gio's been a huge disappointment this season. Brodie can somewhat be excused because of off ice happenings as well as playing out of position. Brouwer has been a part of a lot of playoff teams but what's he doing to earn $4 million? Maybe it's getting close to time for the team to move on from Giordano before that contract really hurts this team. As for Gulutzan I really want to believe he's the right guy moving forward but this team is mirroring his Dallas teams nearly exactly as they were never consistent and hovered arnound .500 never better.
