I dont understand why our various Governments have such a huge problem with inexpensive energy, power and heat. These are assets that a lot of developing countries wished they had.
Yes, I understand that it has environmental consequences. But it seems to me that the more prudent course of action would be using that inexpensive power while working on replacing it, whereas the action currently taken has been to take steps to shut down the sources of the current, inexpensive power and basically force people to fend for themselves until...
As for these people in particular...I'm not going to get into it too much, they seem like something of an extreme case, but if you're $10K in arrears and you're using that much power monthly then maybe some time off the grid was needed, because thats insane.
