I actually re watched TFA the other night for the fourth time, still a good movie. I agree with South Park in that it wasn't THAT good and we were influenced by the member berries for sure, but it was entertaining and most importantly they just didn't mess it up. I would rather a movie like this played it safe for round 1 than tried to reach for the stars and fall on its face. For Episode 8 I expect them to take some leaps of their own though and that will be the deterministic factor of success for this trilogy.. in my opinion anyway.
For Rogue One I just expect it to be an action thrill ride with iconic Star Wars figures and music leading me through an almost Shakespearian play full of tragedy and desperation. I don't expect this to have an overly happy ending for the characters given that none of them are seen in the OT, but we do know it has a good result for the Rebellion so that will be the take home feel good portion.
I am looking forward to the animal that is Vader. Early reviews have basically said this is almost a horror movie version of Vader, I can't wait.
