Why shouldn't we be able to expect a possible uptick in production on a far better offensive team? That, combined with Iginla's typical slow starts, could allow for Iginla to function (I think) as an ok player. I think we'd be buying low.
Stick Iginla on the Monahan line with Ferland. Make it a line of three big players who can physically dominate the opposition.
Gaudreau - Bennett - Chiasson
Ferland - Monahan - Iginla
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Versteeg - Stajan - Brouwer
Those are four fantastic lines right there. That'd be one of the deepest lineups in the NHL, easily.

Monahan lacks foot speed. Pairing him with an even slower Iginla means the puck would stay in the Flames end.
