Why shouldn't we be able to expect a possible uptick in production on a far better offensive team? That, combined with Iginla's typical slow starts, could allow for Iginla to function (I think) as an ok player. I think we'd be buying low.
Stick Iginla on the Monahan line with Ferland. Make it a line of three big players who can physically dominate the opposition.
Gaudreau - Bennett - Chiasson
Ferland - Monahan - Iginla
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Versteeg - Stajan - Brouwer
Those are four fantastic lines right there. That'd be one of the deepest lineups in the NHL, easily.

In my view he is too slow - both in terms of his foot speed and his hockey IQ now. It happens to everyone.
And he was never a good 2 way player.
Nevermind the immense distraction the entire thing could be.
I would love to see them add a veteran winger for the right price. There are better choices.
