As a side note, this thread quickly escalated into should we take him or not? Another question is: would Iginla want to finish his career PLAYING here? Everyone kinda assumes that he would want to waive his NMC to play here. I don't think that's a given. He might still try to get in with a more probable contender and give it one more shot for the Cup...
A topic such as this presupposes that the player would actually waive for this team. It goes without saying that he has to waive first, but that is not the issue being discussed here.
