I voted "yes". My reasons:
- Most likely, this is Iginla's last season playing NHL hockey.
- Also most likely, he will be brought back to retire as a Flame like Regehr.
- Calgary is not a really serious Cup contender this season, as much as I would have liked to state otherwise.
- Personally, I would be happy and consider this season successful, if Calgary makes playoffs; ecstatic, if we go 2 rounds deep into the playoffs.
- If that's the case, why not bring Iginla back to play here and make the last contribution as a player with the team he had spent the most of his playing career?
As a side note, this thread quickly escalated into should we take him or not? Another question is: would Iginla want to finish his career PLAYING here? Everyone kinda assumes that he would want to waive his NMC to play here. I don't think that's a given. He might still try to get in with a more probable contender and give it one more shot for the Cup...
