doesn't the PA strongly oppose any kind of sweetheart deals or discounts? The more they push the envelope on salary standards, i would imagine the better from a union perspective.
Mcdavid is clearly looking to be the best player of the upcoming generation. His contract will set the bar as far as what the upper bar on salaries.
I don't see mcdavid screwing the oilers, he will sign, take it long term till UFA years or perhaps 2-3 more. But that is going to cost 10-12 mill per year i think.
