The Flames could use a player like that on the PP. He may even be an upgrade on Chaisson 5 on 5 on our top offensive line.

The motivational story is gravy, but the decision would need to be based on the hockey fit. So it really comes down to how you see Iginla this season. Is he completely out of gas, or is this one of his normal slow starts and he is still the guy he was a season ago? If it is the former he makes our team better this season and is a good deadline pick-up. If it is the latter we stay away.
That was Iginla last year. Iginla this year is just brutal. He's got three goals and a whopping 7 points, most of those on the PP. For comparison, Blake f'n Comeau has five goals. Iginla is done. Colorado fans know it and want him gone. It's time to move on. If the Flames bring him back, it's one shift the off to the retirement community. Let him finish as a Flame by playing a game, but don't do anything stupid like believe he has anything left and count on him to play him with guys he's just going to slow down. Time to move on and get over Iginla.
