I'd be as nostalgic as some on here for Iggy to return for a playoff run with this team. But all this chat, while interesting, is premature for those that want to see and those that are worried about it.

IF the Flames are looking like a playoff team come deadline, and the asking price for Iggy isn't too steep, then I'd say the following (fairly obvious things):

- The Flames should be looking for an on the cheap rental to fill the Top 6 very obvious void that is Chaisson. Upgrading on him with a rental should be something that the Flames should consider, as should upgrading Brodie's D partner with a rental.

- Iggy should be looked at as an option, as long as:
- He's returned to last seasons form in the back half of the year
- We feel his game style would compliment the line GG would like use him on.

- Don't think the leadership / culture issues people are worried about should be a thing. It's been a while, the culture on this team has completely turned over, and I don't think Iggy would be looking to play that role. Besides, who's left that was around when he was here last: Gio, Backlund and Brodie. None will be in "awe" of Iggy.

If the Flames find themselves in a playoff spot come deadline, upgrade Chaisson and upgrade Brodie's partner (without selling the farm) should be on BTs list. If Iggy fits the equation, it should be explored, just like other UFA options available should be as well. Iggy shouldn't get any more or less consideration by BT because of his past history here.
