This happened to me for a few years. It's usually that in the cold there is more resistance to the door going down so it thinks there is an obstruction and reverses.

For a possibly quick and cheap fix, buy some jig-a-loo or silicone spray and spray the heck out of the track and wheels. I did that last fall and got through the entire winter without it happening again.
