Yes, maybe I didn't word it right. There are very clear rules about players and their interaction with officials but there is, insofar as I know, no rules about contact with a downed or injured player.
Wideman wasn't assessed a penalty, but he broke a rule. The players knocking Larsen about technically broke no rule that I know of except perhaps a loose interpretation of Unsportsmanlike Conduct.
They can't fine the clowns as they broke no rule. I wish there was as I would like to see supplementary discipline in that case. I'm not usually one for overduing rules and such, but perhaps there should be one that addresses this - sad that one would be required.
Again, maybe there is one and I just don't know about it.
