It also occurred to me while reading some wiki pages that the BCS only seems good in hindsight. In reality is sucked, big time.
There were so many years of controversy in the early 2000s. Seems like there were 5 or 6 consecutive years where there was a huge controversy about the BCS selections. Widening the field has helped so much, even if it has shifted the debate down the ladder.
But at the end of the day, I am so glad we are arguing about Washington or Mich/PSU etc instead of arguing about Bama vs Clemson or OSU for the national championship. God that would suck. When you think of the alternative and how this year would have turned out under the old system, it makes me really appreciate the playoff, even if it isn't perfect itself.
