Looking through the coments I see severa positive reviews of Ferland's play yet when I look at the ice time stats I see him as playing the second least of anyone on both teams and he only got that because a lete shift put him past Hathaway.
I feel like this has happened several times this year. He plays well but only gets 10-12 minutes. Even in games like this where there is not a lot of special teams play. I don't expect him to get 20 minutes, or even 17-18 but why isn't he getting 12-15 more often.
Can someone who has seen more games than I (only seen 8 games plus parts of 9 more this season) suggest why.

He was shaken up at one point when he fell awkwardly, so he might have missed some shifts there.
Plus, he is on the fourth line and every line was going well, so he was never going to get a ton of time.
