Physically and offensively he looks better in both regards. He's finishing his checks this year, with more consistency. Plenty of times last year he'd bump into a guy and yeah it would count as a hit but it was a nothing moment. This year he's smashing into players more often with devastating results.
This year he has four goals in 26 games, on pace for 32 points and 14 goals. Good third line numbers. Last season he finished with four goals and 18 points. It's really hard to argue he wasn't anymore more then a 4th liner at best last year.
Current Ferland looks focused, last years Ferland looked lost.

Agreed 100%. I've been called a Ferland hater but I'm far from that. He's played great this season in most games and does occasionally have off games like all players but last year he was off for probably 75% of the season.
He was real bad last year and has been a great 3rd liner this season. Hopefully he can keep it up.
