Making America Lose Jobs Less Fast Again!
Saving 1000 jobs is nice, though as the White House pointed out Obama's time has added 800,000+ manufacturing jobs, if we're going to measure positives. Or the what, 15 million jobs created total.. That's a lot more than 1000 per day, and that's comparing saved jobs to new jobs. EDIT: Or the million+ jobs saved by the auto industry bailout, which wasn't a gift like the Carrier deal but was mostly paid back.
The organization in Indiana (that Pence chairs) that does these kind of deals said they'd already offered Carrier something to save jobs, so one wonders if Carrier's owning company having huge government contracts had anything to do with Carrier changing their minds. EDIT: Plus this only works because Pence is still Governor of Indiana, Trump doesn't have any direct authority.
Trump campaigned harshly against this exact kind of corporate welfare, but I bet tomorrow at his rally he'll crow about it and the crowd will cheer just as loud as when they cheered him railing against corporate welfare.
Yes I know I'm complaining about things not making sense when I should know things won't make sense, I can't help it.
