Last year was his worst ever in terms of CF% (Shots+blocks+misses), and he was still well north of 50%. He's nearly 2% better this year. For his career, he's a 57% player. For comparison, let's look at Dougie' fancy stats compared to the other two stud D on the team. And for even more context, I'll include everyone's favorite Dougie comparable, J-Bo.

CF% - Career
Hamilton: 57%
Giordano: 53.2%
Brodie: 49.7%
Bouwmeester: 46.6% (Since they started tracking Corsi/Fenwick in 2007-08)

Fenwick For (Shots+Misses)(Where >50% means the player's team controls the puck more often than not with the player on the ice - sorry, this is more for my benefit than anyone else's)

Hamilton: 56.3%
Giordano: 53.4%
Brodie: 49.6%
Bouwmeester: 46.5%

Dougie directs pucks toward the goal better than any defenseman on the team. Statistically speaking, we are the least likely to be scored upon when he's on the ice. Bouwmeester is an inferior player to all three.

In conclusion, don't trade Dougie.
Thank you and a bit of an eye opener. Suggests Hamilton is woefully underplayed.

If you put a lot of weight in these, what does it say about Brodie?
