I did a little bit of analysis on this on HF and I'll post some more for you to see:

stats don't include the game last night since I did this on saturday

Elliot 2016-17 at 5v5 12 GP
12.39 low danger shots/60 min
8.34 medium danger shots/60 min
7.94 high danger shots/60 min (4th Highest/60 among starting goalies in the league, almost Oilers bad)

Johnson 2016-17 at 5v5 11GP
12.85 low danger shots/60 min
8.44 medium danger shots/60 min
5.95 high danger shots/60 min (10th lowest in the league)

The Flames have defended much better in front of Johnson and he has rewarded them with strong performances.

The numbers get even more skewed when you just look at game in November (excluding yesterday again)

Elliot Nov 2016 at 5v5 5 GP
13.80 ldsa/60
7.41 mdsa/60
6.90 hdsa/60 (a little worse than league average if extrapolated all year)

Johnson Nov 2016 at 5v5 8 GP
13.02 ldsa/60
8.68 mdsa/60
4.66 hdsa/60 (2nd best in the league if extrapolated)

Johnson has been very good in November but the Flames defense had been making him look good as well.

This defense is capable of playing good shutdown hockey.
