Hamilton would have to be in the discussion of Norris in the future to justify the trade and picks given up to get him. So far, it's been a bust for the Flames. He's playing ok lately. When Hamilton plays ok the Flames win, when he plays poorly the Flames lose. Kind of like football, if you see a weakness you exploit it if you are the other team.
Everyone's point is not moot? If no one had a point on the Flames, the Flames had better be a very concerned hockey club.

The Flames gave up 3 draft picks for him.
Two of those picks are still in the CHL in their draft + 2 year. And the other is in the NCAA. There is no guarantee any of them ever play in the NHL. Senyshyn, the 1st rounder, is less than a point a game as a 19 year old in the OHL.
But in your mind, Hamilton has to be in the Norris conversation to justify the trade? Unbelievable how unrealistic some fans can be.
How about we wait until one of them actually plays an NHL game before we call the trade a bust for the Flames, okay?
