Also to add to your point of the provincial politics being in shambles:
- The David Swann and Greg Clark one man bands and their refusal to merge or cooperate to build a tenable party to occupy the centre of the political spectrum. We have the NDP and a 'far too left for Alberta' government today almost solely because they refused to be ready for when the eventual PC dynasty finally came to an end. We could have had a PC minority propped up by a merged Liberal / Alberta party or vice versa which would have achieved the outcome of cutting down the PC dynasty while avoiding the full economic damage of a NDP government. A year and a half later and still no more progress.
- The fact that no party to the right or centre right can get enough support to have a large enough tent to win an election without including the pro-life, anti-gay elements. Sure I can't imagine that the PC party or Wildrose would ever be able to legislate on these issues, but they cannot fully champion or celebrate social progress on these issues to put LGBTQ2+ and women at enough ease to feel comfortable enough to continually vote for them while the Craig Chandler types are the most involved at the grass roots level.
