I'm not sure Carolina wouldn't prefer to lose Ward and keep Lack, and spend Ward's cap somewhere else.
Defensemen: Davidson, Petrovic and Klein aren't big losses. Brodin and Orlov would hurt their teams quite a bit, and if I were Washington I wouldn't expose him. If the Canucks can get rid of Luca Sbisa, it will actually make them
better, so they should hope LV is that dumb. Seems more likely they'll lose someone like Hansen.
Forwards: This is bad for a large number of teams. Flames get off really easy, as do the Blues, Sabres and Devils. Colorado, Detroit, and especially Anaheim get absolutely
hosed. Losing Silfverberg would be a massive setback for them. They'd be better off just exposing Kesler.
