When things are going sideways for you and your team is all upside down, you have to go back to basics.
It's not pretty, but on the PP you gotta fly into the neutral zone with speed and blast it deep into the corner. The so called skill guys need to crash and bang. Finesse zone entries and setups have NOT BEEN WORKING. That's the only way (IMO, of course) to turn the PP around. Once you are digging in the corners, your man advantage should let you start a cycle and create a chance. It's not the prettiest PP, but I repeat, the finesse plays and trying the traditional powerplay setup has NOT BEEN WORKING.
On the penalty kill, they need to be more aggressive, but smart. The box should play tighter once the opposition has setup, but before the setup occurs, they need to pressure man to man. They are tentative on the PK.
