It is funny that there are a few people who got upset with Scott being voted in. The players don't take it seriously - many of them don't even want to participate and try to find excuses to get out of it, necessitating the NHL to fine or suspend players for not showing up when selected. That's how silly it is.

The players don't play hard at all. To call it glorified shinny is to exaggerate it I think. Players go out there and barely compete. I have seen guys competing harder in shinny.

If you are going to open up fan voting, you should have at least had the foresight to think it out and ensure you got what you wanted in the first place. Making rule changes is just slapping everyone in the face. "You guys got it wrong last time, so this time we are going to put restrictions so that WE (the NHL and Official Party Poopers) get exactly what we want."

Why have fan voting? If the NHL wants to have the best players on the ice, have the players select them. Have the coaches select them. Whatever. Don't tell me I got it wrong last time. I will not want to vote and tune in this time.
