Not really. It's not totally untrue what he said, it's just that homes have been getting slapped together for 70 years. The only things that have improved are construction materials. But just like yesteryear, there are good trades and bad trades. Good builders and bad builders. Good builders that sometimes have a bad trade. That usually gets rectified pretty quickly, which is what helps classify a good builder. A better builder will also go back and fix crappy work that manifests itself after turnover. Even if it's 3 months after warranty expires.

Having been in the industry for years, I'm surprised that Truman is choosing this path, especially while times aren't that great, and reputation is so important. The "standing in the sink" comment might have gotten the CSR fired at a company that takes customer service seriously, assuming that it was said in the way that it sounds like in the OP's post.

Car companies figured out that quality is what breeds loyalty. Some builders have figured that out as well. I thought Truman was one of them, so this looks pretty bad.
