Personally I really like both albums...
But mer de noms is number 1 in my mind...The melodic aspects of it are just amazing. 3 libras, Brena and Orestes are just simply works of art. I agree with you on the tempo changes, they give the band a really amazing sound...
Mind you with a voice like Maynards it doesn't take much to make a song sound good.
I have to say that he has probably the neatest voice of any artist out there right now.
Him and Billy Corgan - their voices just take me to a different level in
terms of having a musical experience.
Great news about tool...
A collaboration with Reznor would be something I would definatley look for...I remember some time ago (about 4-5 years) when there was a project in place with Marlyin Manson, Maynard James Keenan, Trent Reznor and Billy corgan.
Unfortunatley it never materialized due to a number of factors - but man wouldn't it have been something to hear what those guys would have come up with.
In the end Reznor ended up doing some collaborations with Maynard entitled "Project Tapeworm"...
