Wow, that was about as underhanded as it gets. So they responded by passive aggressively suggesting they can't just be there for you forever, then they used your own words against you to show that you understand that, despite not admitting this was a huge defect that caused major damage.
All of it is pretty bad but the fact that they did all of this under the knowledge that you could no longer respond to clarify or defend yourself is ridiculous. If you can get the media to do something on this I'd absolutely add this BS tactic to the story.
Their response was 100% dismissive of you as a customer and was 100% designed to make you look like an unreasonable idiot, this should not be ignored, imo.
