It's not ongoing service and maintenance, it's a defect. Ask them to provide the ongoing "service and maintenance" schedules that should be done to ensure a non-collapsing sink, and why they weren't included when you purchased the property so you would know they needed to be done. See what they can provide. It's not like getting your oil changed.
