Without knowing about your specific case, it is normal for the Plumbing Subtrade to supply the undermount sink to the subtrade that makes the counter top.
If this is going back to a subtrade's warranty, I don't think it should be the Plumbing Company, it should be whoever installed the sink. Usually the Granite/countertop people.

You may be right but it is the builders reponsiblilty to make sure the subs are doing their job correctly. It is the builder that is ultimately responsible since they contract these guys.
