The only thing making me panic a little is the trade rumours.
There's no reason any team should be trading a young top 4 defenseman, especially not the Flames. Defensemen impact the game more than forwards and are very hard to replace. I cannot see the Flames coming to winning this type of trade.
In fact, I would rather Keep Hamilton over Monahan or Bennett. Craig Button was on 770 a few hours ago, and he was saying that the Flames should trade Hamilton because of his high cap. Hamilton's cap is the least of our worries.

Friedman: Whether #Flames trade Hamilton or not, I think they want to add a defenseman w/ a bit of bite.
If this is true, the Flames' management is scary.
There are no young truculent defensemen in the league who are as good as Hamilton.
But at the same time, Engelland is apparently on the trading block (Bruce Garrioch).
So the Flames are trying to acquire a truculent defenseman for Hamilton, yet they are putting Engelland on the trading block?
I sincerely hope there's no substance to these rumours. Otherwise, Treliving and Burke may have lost their minds.
Having a bad season is one thing. But foolishly getting rid of one of your best young pieces is catastrophic.
