You could make an argument for Granlund on intangibles and defensive responsibility. Though his overall play marks him for what he is: a third line centre. That trade saw Vancouver acquire a low risk, low ceiling player in exchange for a high risk, mid ceiling player. From the Flames perspective, we risked nothing. We may end up with nothing, but we won't end up worse off for it.
But unless Baertschi is scoring, he has little value to add. And Baertschi ain't scoring.
