If it seems like its difficult to attract big name coaches, thats probably more on ownership and what they're willing to pay.

If the Flames keel haul GG after 18 games there's no chance of getting any kind of decent coach to come here without a 5 year monstrous contract. Since most coaches are fired and tend to be collecting pay without working why would they risk that to come to what would look like an unstable organization.
The coaches worth having they wait for the preferred situation.
