There's a petition with millions of signatures on it out there too. It's a bit funny because part of the whole point of the Electoral College was to prevent someone from duping the public and sweeping into office.
But that's a fantasy, if the EC voted Clinton in I can't even imagine what the public response would be.

The protesters don't seem to be calling for a change to the outcome of the election (though some are appealing to the EC but as above that's a pipe dream). Trump is the most unpopular person to ever be elected President, they're just expressing their dislike of him, expressing their fear that he'll do the things he said he'd do, continue to be the person he's already shown himself to be.
I share those concerns, I think protesting is silly and that there's better ways to impact things but I'm also old.
