I like your point, because I love this movie. But this is the infamous Odessa steps scene where Tsarist troops brutally repress a protest.

Imagine that your maybe starting to have some doubts about the Communist government after the revolution and you watch this film and your first thought is that compared to the Tsar the Communists aren't that bad.
