The Battleship Potemkin is on tonight at 10:00 on Turner classics (channel 42).
This movie was directed by Sergei Eisenstein and is considered one of the greatest movies of the silent film era.
You could almost also call this one of the great Russian propaganda efforts as it focused on the revolt of a crew against their evil officers and eventually caused a revolution against the Tsar and a massacre by Tsarist troops.
Eisenstein was also the man who directed Alexander Nevsky which was a warning to the Russian people in 1938 that the Russians would eventually invade Mother Russia.
