The thing is, a free agent coach that has options isn't likely going to want to hop into an organization that is a coaching carousel. Successful coaches tend to avoid circuses when they can.
It's a catch 22. We need some frickin' coaching stability, but we can't stick with a dud either. Either outcome is not great.
But yeah, this time they need to interview the candidate and line them up before making the change. No more trading in the boat for a mystery box.
