I have said it before and I will say it again. One of Treleving's bad qualities is an insane level of OVER analysis on things that appear to be evident so most and should be evident to senior staff.
The PTO's, the 3 goalie monster last year, the lack of legit roster spots for guys like Wotherspoon and Kulak(since been better), the "prove it" contract to Bouma when it was rumored he was looking for a $1 mil AAV, the coaching hire which i am sure was analyzed to the T but has yet to do anything but infuriate a fan base.
There are other examples but this Grossman signing is the icing on the cake. We all speculated that part of the rumored deal with Grossman was he would get a few games in and then go to Stockton and the whole idea was to get max cap flexibility. It now appears Grossman has zero intension on being an AHL player and only wanted to stay in the NHL. The now infamous Grossman signing which was to provide the team with X number of benefits has blown up in their face meanwhile the other guys like Korpokoski in Dallas has 3 goals. I am not sure this guy would have turned down a $600k contract when he was here on a PTO.
In any event I am just a frustrated fan because I see the results and it doesn't appear to be working. It almost seems like we are trying to hit specific metrics and markers with the goal of trying to win instead of actually solving problems.
