I'm confused at the continued outrage directed towards this contract and management by people on this board. The Grossman signing was to ensure the Flames received full LTIR relief on Smid's contract. We played him in a few games to avoid any issues with the league and in turn Grossman made ~$90,000 before having his contract terminated for what is most likely a more lucrative deal overseas. Smid's situation is unaffected since it is retroactive to the cap situation at the time his LTIR was filed, and we won't have another useless body taking away minutes from Kulak or any of our prospects in Stockton moving forward.
Grossman was obviously gross and isn't capable of playing in the league anymore, but he also didn't single-handedly cost any games that the team hadn't already collectively shat the bed in.
