I think we're seeing textbook overcoaching, way too much emphasis on a million little details with no fun or creativity involved. When you put a million little catchphrases, like Glue Gun loves to use, in the players heads they can't think straight. Manage the game, it's a process, defensive systems, pressure in the o-zone blah blah blah at no point are they ever just playing hockey. He's overcomplicating it and giving them way too much to learn at once, put the puck in the opposition net protect Elliott.
I agree with the sentiment a potted plant would be better, having no coach would be better because then the players wouldn't have GlueGuns stupid catchphrases in their ears all the time. He talks too much while saying very little, too many words not enough pragmatism not enough fun.
