We should all be treated the same, but when it comes to understanding us and our decisions we're all different.
Models aren't intended to be a judgment about anything, they're just based on observations. It'd be impossible to individually model and predict the actions of 330 million individuals, but if you put the 330 million into larger groups you can model and predict with sufficient accuracy as to be useful.
