By merely dismissing people that voted for Trump as dumb or miss informed people are missing the key point of this whole exercise and that's understanding why the people voted the way they did.

If the left or the democrats merely dismiss this results as the voters being dumb, or lazy or misinformed, they're going to doom themselves to losing again and not fixing the mistakes that were made.

Voters aren't dumb, they have their reasons for their votes.
Great post. And I'd add that if you are in Canada you likely don't stand a chance of knowing what those reasons are. Canadian media had me gasp the way I do when I see something on Fox News. Canadian media showed an experienced politician who maybe, but maybe not had an ethics issue or two versus Satan. It totally glossed over many things that were commonly talked about in the us about Clinton. At any time national post or the globe would have 6 different articles about how crazy trump is, and nothing about Clinton.

a great deal of Americans voted against another person or party. There is a lot interest in rebalancing the Supreme Court and killing Obama care. Voting for trump isn't a vote for racism, just as much as a vote for Clinton isn't a vote for corruption. A lot of complexity existed in that decision that almost all Canadians were not exposed to.

Everyone has forgotten that Canada voted in a snowboard teacher. Does that make every Canadian simple?
