I don't know what to think or hope for from here. I want to hope that Trump fails and shows what a terrible mistake he is, but I don't know how he can do that without taking the country down with him.

Sorry I disagree. In a normal election cycle Bernie wouldn't have had a chance, but this election wasn't normal. His message was very left-wing, but as the Alberta election showed us, people will vote completely against their ideals when they are sick and tired of status quo.
The real fault lies with the Democrats who were too stupid to realize Hillary was a terrible candidate.
Think about it, Bernie had more women support among Democrats than she did during the primaries.
