If Trump wins, regardless of the underlying issues, this election has validated racism and hate. We have candidates who have lost based on a fraction of the scandals and negative soundbytes that have come from this Trump campaign. It shouldn't even be close. Even if it's only a small percentage of his supporters, those racists now feel vindicated, and that's terrifying.
One hopeful thing is that trumps desire to be loved by celebrities should moderate his social policies. If you look back to his convention speech he had a pro LGBT line and only talked about abortion when directly asked about the debate. He is the most socially moderate republican that has been elected recently.
