Why is this so difficult for you?
WIthout signing grossmann the flames would've been prevented from icing a more competitive roster, including influencing the decision on which prospects can get called up based on their contract situation.
Signing Grossmann directly benefited the Calgary flames and their ability to manage the cap and minimize the problems created by Feaster.
If Treliving didn't sign and play Grossmann he would've been doing a worse job than if he had signed and played him.
