Hes had a good career, hes still getting paid, and I believe he gets to keep more of his money because the Tax rates in California are lower than here (pretty much anywhere other than Quebec is lower than here) and in the AHL he doesnt have to pay into escrow.
So its not all bad from Grossman's perspective either.
