Very clearly, and Dwight's respect for Darryl.

Hes wearing Daryl's vest, carrying Daryl's crossbow and riding Daryl's motorbike.

He admires Daryl. He wants to be Daryl. When Daryl was offered the easy way out he stood his ground, refused to yield whereas Dwight gave Negan everything he wanted.

He gave him his service, his subservience, his dignity, his honour and his wife. Negan took far more than half of everything Dwight had and now here Daryl is and he refuses to give Negan a damned thing.

What this also shows is defiance to Negan. That you dont have to do things Negan's way, Daryl wont.

So now what you see is a beaten dog who is beginning to realize that he doesnt have to sit back and just keep taking the beatings. There is another way.
